Bitdeer AI Signs for 67MW A901 Campus, Its Third Malaysian AI Data Centre Hub
Bitdeer AI, the AI cloud arm of Bitdeer Technologies Group, has signed a 10-year services agreement for A901, a 67MW data centre campus in Malaysia, Data Center Intelligence reported on October 9 after the company’s announcement. It will be Bitdeer AI’s third data centre hub in the country, alongside existing sites in Cyberjaya and Johor.
The campus will supply critical IT load engineered for liquid-cooled, rack-scale Nvidia GB300 NVL72 systems running enterprise AI workloads. Phased delivery is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with the full 67MW in place in the second quarter. The exact location, operator and price were not disclosed. With the deal, Bitdeer AI holds about 273.5MW of secured data centre capacity across Malaysia, Norway and the United States, around 78% of its goal of up to 350MW by the first quarter of 2028.
“Demand for liquid-cooled, rack-scale AI capacity in Southeast Asia is running ahead of what the market can deliver, and customers are asking for it earlier and in larger blocks,” said Michael Potter, chief financial officer of Bitdeer Technologies Group. The company put its pipeline of prospective AI cloud data centre demand at more than $10 billion. Bitdeer AI is a preferred Nvidia Cloud Partner and offers GPU cloud infrastructure, a Model Studio and an AI Agent Builder.
What it means in practice
The agreement shows Malaysia’s data centre boom moving toward dense, liquid-cooled racks built for training and serving large models rather than general-purpose cloud halls. That raises the bar for power and cooling, and for the grid and water supplies that serve these campuses. Leasing capacity in a third-party campus lets Bitdeer add sites without building them itself, but it ties its delivery dates to the developer’s construction schedule. For Malaysian businesses, more GPU cloud supply in the country could mean shorter waits and lower latency for AI workloads that must stay onshore.
The deal follows a run of compute commitments in Malaysia, including Firmus signing OpenAI as anchor customer for two AI factories and Amazon’s $75 million land purchase in Selangor. It also arrives as Putrajaya plans a national AI compute exchange for the first quarter of 2027.
What to watch: where A901 is located and who operates it, whether the first capacity arrives on schedule in early 2027, and which customers Bitdeer signs for its Malaysian GB300 clusters.
